Tundra region

Tundra is a finnish word which means that barren land.

Vegetation:the tundra region have least vegetation. Tundra region consist's treless on the north(artic tundra) and high mountains (alpine tundra). The vegetation of tundra is low growing and consists msinlyof sedges, grasses, dwarf shruns, wild flowers ,mosses and lichens.
On the tundra region animsls like mountain goats, sheep, marmots and birds like snowy owl, ruddy turn stone snow goose etc .

The growing season ranges from 50 to 60 days . The average winter temperature is -34° but the average summer temperature is 3 to -12°.
The tundra region is one of the most harsh environment on the world.
