Carnivorous plants are the plants that consume animals or protozoans, insects and other arthropods to get nutrients.

These plans have adapted to live in places where the soil is poor in nutrients and high acedic.
They are thought to evoloped independently nine times in five different order of flowering plants.
These plants have five basic trapping mechanism which are
- Pit fall trap
- Fly paper trap
- Snap trap
- Lobster
